Route of “Las Norias” of the Genil River

The route of “Las Norias del Río Genil” is circular, passing through pine groves, olive groves, orchards,fruit trees, and the riparian forest of the Genil River. Along the way, you can admire the meanders of the Genil River and visit the Arab-origin water wheels of Huerta de las Cruces, the Isla de San Miguel and the Campo del Castillo. This route includes the route of the PR-A 160 (campsite path) and part of the path Landscapes with History: Route of the Norias of the Genil River, which make up a unique group of hydraulic devices of great interest. During the walk, you can enjoy panoramic views of Cerro del Hacho, where the castle of Gómez Arias is located, Hernán Ruiz II Bridge, and the two monumental viaducts of the A-45.
